  It appears that old versions of perl don't like the nested map in WebKit's IDL code generator and occasionally do the wrong thing, so I get a build failure 15-20% of the time. Upstream won't want my "fix," but figuring that one out was time-consuming, so at least now I can move on to some other thing on my list of things to do.

  Oh, awesome. I was going to look at matplotlib on Tumbleweed (the testsuite is failing on GNOME 50 because pygobject prints out a warning about a deprecated function, and the test treats warnings as errors), but someone already made a fix for it. GNOME 50 is hopefully on its way now.

  It's a variable called endPostion, and it's referenced several times in the function. I guess someone typoed the name and just rolled with it.

  Okay, I really should be trying to fix this WebKit crasher right now, rather than gaming, but one of the people I'm gaming with didn't know that The Sound of Silence was originally sung by Simon and Garfunkel. And I'd never heard of the Disturbed version that he knew.

  Trying to learn to use lldb, since it seems to be the preferred debugger for WebKit. Every time I type a character, it appears to briefly print the target (or a notice saying, "no target") on the last line of the screen, then clear it. I wonder why it is doing that. I've encountered a similar issue with vim, so, a while ago, I added a thing in yasr so that it can optionally not read things printed to a certain part of the screen. And I see quite a few posts from other disabled people along the lines of "stop telling us not to use AI when it's helping me fix accessibility issues that you've never done anything to fix."   Just saw that WebKitGTK 2.50.5 is out. In general, I've noticed that WebKit's Linux a11y code has issues (I get a crash if I try to authenticate a gmail account in evolution, for instance), and, alas, I have too many things on my to-do list right now and don't have time to try to work on it. But at least the role mapping regression is fixed.
