Until I saw this blog post, I had no idea that anyone was considering making Linux distributions VT-less. https://xogium.me/the-next-best-decision-stepping-away-from-the-linux-desktop Now I'm wondering what is seen as the advantage of removing VTs. It would certainly affect my workflow. And what would happen if a system is unable to boot into a graphical desktop? This happened to a lot of Tumbleweed users (myself included) when updating to GNOME 49. Admittedly, it is not good that a system update caused the GUI to fail to start--it was not easy for experienced users to diagnose the problem, and a casual user would not have had a chance. I would not recommend a rolling distribution to a beginner because of the possibility of these kinds of bugs, but I digress. Still, I'm having trouble understanding how a VT-less system would work.
