Good Zoom appt with pulmonology specialist. He’s so great! Gonna try to figure out a way for me to feel less miserable, starting with maybe a different form of potassium, if he can find something gentler. And he suggested I take my big diuretic agan tomorrow to try to get ahead of the edema. Thank heavens for intelligent docs who care. #ChronicIllness

Feeling pretty good today! Have not eaten yet so stomach is behaving. Things I’ve done: Tidied my bedroom a little bit Pounded dried bread scraps in my mortar to make breadcrumbs Shredded up more stale bread to dry on lowest heat in oven for more crumbs Started straining a quart of kefir for yogurt Assembled my mini eggplant parm to bake later Made banana-nut muffins Washed up all my dishes and made the kitchen a little bit nicer Whew! Now I will CHILL for the rest of the day! #Spoonie

Omg this mini eggplant parm is really REALLY good, and made two little Kara meals. I think you could use a medium eggplant and double everything else for a family meal (I needed more crumbs and egg, so next time I’ll use 3/4c crumbs and add a couple tablespoons of water to the egg to make it go further). It’s tiring to fry all those eggplant slices, so I might try baking them on a sheet pan next time. But man, it was worth it. #recipes Turn on your popup blocker! https://onedishkitchen.com/eg...

People of Earth! I’ve just made a lemon yogurt as good or better than the discontinued lemon yogurt from Trader Joe’s. I used my homemade whole milk very thick strained kefir yogurt but I imagine it would work with store-bought Greek yogurt. Whisk together 1 tablespoon sugar and 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice. When thoroughly combined, whisk into 1/2 cup plain yogurt. Now, I like a LOT of lemon. If you want it more mild, start with 1/2 tablespoon juice. #recipes #fermentation

@Judeet98@mstdn.social yeah the recipe I modified called for zest but, strangely, I’m not a fan. Give me ALL THE LEMON but keep the zest.

My sweeties are here! My sweeties are here! Granddaughter Lulu is harvesting cherry tomatoes for me, and son @zinn brought delicious leftovers for my freezer. We’re gonna snuggle in bed and play on our Switches now, and I’ll give Lulu her early 6th birthday present— #FaeFarm! https://faefarm.com/en-us/ #Nintendo

After spending the previous, what, three days in bed, today I’m UP — for a while at least. Got my ginger ale started, picked tomatoes, steamed some cauliflower for breakfast, commanded the Roomba to do some work. #Spoonie

Back to bed at noon but at least I was up for a few hours, and I don’t feel super exhausted. Just done being UP for the day and want my cozy bed, movies, and knitting. #spoonie

#GBBO Watching first ep of new Bake-Off now! They got rid of super-annoying Matt Lucas, thank god, and replaced him with a woman who seems really sweet. The contestants are uniformly charming. The challenges so far are NORMAL. If they can stay away from nonsense like tacos and weird impossible things that literally no one has ever heard of, I have high hopes for this season going back to the pleasant, comfy bake off we used to enjoy so much!

@haydenthorne@sunny.garden Same! Same! Mexico Week was appalling. Oh my god those “taacos”. Alison Hammond seems lovely, and there were far fewer stupid gags and much more warmth. Enjoyed it tremendously, more than in years. #GBBO

I woke up with a strange name in my head. Stringfellow Hawk Yes, I could google and find out exactly who it is in three seconds flat, but I’m enjoying the old-school feeling of having no idea who this person is. I don’t read romance novels or I’d guess he’s the bare-chested hero in a bodice-ripper. Maybe a soap opera character? Character in a 19th century historical novel about colonial days? Don’t spoil it for me if you know, and if you don’t maybe you’ll join me in puzzling over it.
