Here’s a new example of “Americans will measure in anything but metric.” This is on my Missouri Department of Conservation calendar: Plant corn when white oak leaves are the size of a squirrel’s ear.

Target needs some editors. And some punctuation. “Convinient”

Our toddler is a total rear-facing-backseat-driver. On our morning commute, we were stuck in heavy traffic. She can clearly see trucks out her window, so from the backseat she started saying “move please truck, move please truck!” Gosh, I really wish that worked as easily as she thought it would. ❤️

A house in our neighborhood has a revolving door of potential buyers. No one stays more than 10 minutes. Yesterday, someone left the house tour DURING a tornado warning. Like that’s how uninterested they were 🤯

I randomly had a thought about never eating salmon as a kid growing up in New England. It’s all haddock, cod, lobstah, chowdah, and clams there (YUM!). I texted my Mom to confirm my suspicions, and yep, I never ate it growing up. Now I’m wondering when I first had it, because I’ve been eating it for years at this point and it’s one of my favorites.

Our daughter was a handful today. However, she very clearly said “I love you” at bedtime for the first time so my heart is melting all over again. ❤️❤️❤️ cc @User47@vmst.io

Take your kid to work day was a ton of fun. Little babe (2) loved the coloring station and bouncing on the inflatable balls the most. She also took a short break to catch up on her book about Clinical Infectious Diseases. A+ work day.

The new Starbucks toasted coconut latte tastes like the smell of a candle that was just blown out. Normally I like that smell, but I do not like to drink it. 🫠 better than sunscreen though…

Home renovations are not for the weak (I’m the weak).

I’ve had the same mouse at work for 7 years. In the past two weeks I learned that it is annoying me SO MUCH with how loud it is. The entire office doesn’t need to hear me click. So, I bought a new one. 5 minutes after using it, now my keyboard is driving me nuts. Click clack clickety clack. AHHHHH. Maybe it’s time for a vacation.

Our little babe (2) started saying “ope!” today… correctly. Ope.

Today I learned that our toddler likes when I sing 80s love songs to her “More, more!” 💕

@douglasvb@m.ai6yr.org they used to sell it in cans or bottles but I haven’t been able to find it in years.

@ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org @douglasvb@m.ai6yr.org the lights and maze of it all can certainly increase anxiety which can lead to testing relationships

@User47@vmst.io I liked the part that I overheard: Teen: “Wow, that’s smart. I see what you’re doing.” 🥰

Both kiddos are asleep before 8 on a Saturday 🙌 This never happens during the week anymore.

Checking in for a medical appointment next week. One question is for any trips outside the STATE. 🤯

Good news! We have no plans this weekend. Bad news! Kiddo has a stomach bug. Good news! We have no plans this weekend. Good timing I guess.

@mlanger@mastodon.world Yes! That’s what I’m worried about too. Some of these say you don’t NEED to connect it, but in a year or two? Probably somehow bricked if you don’t.

@JimHindsKC@mastodon.social I found an option on NFM for “smart appliance: No” but I think it is mischaracterizing some of the options. I think, unfortunately, this is where AI has been helpful. Ask it to search a specific store for non-connected appliances 🫠 I would totally go with a SpeedQueen next time we need to buy a set. I also love our Miele but it’s too small for bedding.

I’m finalizing our appliance research as we’re nearing our kitchen build. I wish there was a filter for non-WiFi enabled appliances so I don’t see that nonsense.

@Fabis_flying_fotos@avgeek.social THANK YOU for finding this. I’ve been searching for a while thinking it was a fever dream that they FT’d since I couldn’t find the picture anywhere.
