  The Puerto Rican government really really wants us to celebrate the colonizer when half of the metro area still has poor access to water.   This week officially marks 10 years since Barrack Obama signed PROMESA Law. The promise was getting Puerto Rico’s finances under control. What we actually got was tons of austerity. An “oversight board” was supposed to be temporary has become its own de facto government on top of the Puerto Rico government. It already swallowed the electric grid. Now it wants to strangle the University of Puerto Rico. May it forever be a stain on the names of everyone involved. #PuertoRico

  Two things I’ve noticed about local businesses souring on GenAI: First one is a car insurance TV ad showing one of these phone systems mishearing a request for car assistance repeatedly and messaging that they will always have a human work with you. The people I lost contact with have been switching to Signal over the years organically. Most businesses that were WhatsApp-first have migrated away. There are still hold overs. But I don’t expect this app to be synonymous with the default messaging app as it was years ago.

  I’ve been pondering on stuff to write that I need to write down. Today’s subject is #shenmue. For decades I’ve read how this game revolutionized video gaming sandboxes. And I agree. But there’s something else under the surface that isn’t all that discussed Ryo goes through a very traumatic event. And immediately after, the game gets you to experience something that many of us lack in person: a sense of community.
