  I'm really curious as to why the birds have absolutely stripped one of our redcurrant bushes, but only a couple of feet away are bushes that are laden with ripe berries and they've ignored those.

  Will be spending a few days with family, and I'm going to be doing some shopping before we get together. Asked if there was anything specific anyone wanted me to pick up and one person replied "2L gin and dark chocolate" I'm not sure if that is a sign of things to come or not.

  Had a visitor to the dye shed today who went away with a healthy bag full of yarn and looking very happy. Her comment as she was paying was "well, you should see how much my husband has spent on whisky on this trip .....". I hadn't realised there was a whisky/wool balance to be maintained, but clearly I was wrong.

  I'm on the hunt for some accommodation for an event later in the year. I found a hotel close to where we need to be with this mysterious proviso in the "more information" section on their website: "Rooms do not have external views" Now .... that sounds like no windows. So I emailed for clarification and the reply was: "all our rooms have windows. Just no external views." We're so intrigued we'll probably book it 😂

  Having been registered on the HMRC website for years and years and dutifully completing tax returns etc, I now need to register for MTD on the HMRC website using my HMRC login. And suddenly HMRC need photo id?! After 36 years of completing tax returns (both the old paper ones and online) suddenly they need to see my face? Bah! *waves hand around in frustration*

  Another day, another situation of battling with the HMRC website on a different task from yesterday. Following a link on the HMRC website to cancel something on the tax details and it takes me to a page to apply for said tax details. Nothing I do changes it. *throws up hands in disgust*

  Just read a post on a different platform where someone explains that they sold up everything and moved to "the north of Scotland". Orkney maybe? I mean Shetland would be the obvious "north of Scotland" but I'd give them Orkney. Even north Caithness, so the north of mainland Scotland. No .... they moved to Skye. Who wants to tell them there is a whole lot more of Scotland north of Skye? ✋

  Our godson took up crochet just a little over a year ago as he was preparing for his final uni exams. He has taken to it like the proverbial duck, and today in the post I received a crocheted vest which I asked him to crochet for me as a sample for my show stand. It is just so lovely! So I thought I'd show you. It is the "Sunset Song Vest" designed by Marta Mitchell and published in The Journal of Scottish Yarns, and crocheted in my own Kylesku (wool/linen blend) yar...

  Re watching the series presented by Prof. Sam Willis on The Silk Road, and was reminded of the lovely quote from a Zoroastrian woman talking about their colourful clothing. She said Zoroastrians don't normally wear black, and that .... "We wear lively colours to refresh our souls". I can certainly understand and appreciate that perspective.
