That is the government&#39;s job, right? Or perhaps it *was* known about, but perhaps there were no Tory donors who were interested in making a profit out of the upgrade?

Today we launched our campaign for the Scottish Parliament election! On May 7th let&#39;s demand free bus travel for everyone, the biggest expansion of funded childcare for a generation, investment in climate and nature, and that the rich pay their fair share. On May 7th let&#39;s demand better.

If one can judge from the SNP&#39;s election campaign launch this morning, Swinney is buying them a way to back out of pursuing a new referendum by doubling down on his &quot;SNP majority&quot; argument instead of &quot;independence majority&quot;. It is highly unlikely they will win a majority and they will likely need to team up with the Scottish Greens again.
