  In a fit of hubris, I bought the first volume of the Yotsuba manga. In Japanese I read the first couple of pages. I get about...90%? It's not that bad However... I have issues *reading* it, from a vision standpoint. It's so small, the furigana especially! I'm old and I have -12 dioptre!

  Spent the whole day today writing a metadata tagger for manga. Grabs data via the APIs of MyAnimeList and Comic Vine, combines them and writes a ComicInfo.xml to the CBZ archive I previously used a weird existing Python ("MangaTagger") program plus a GUI application ("comictagger") to fix up the data, but that was annoying My own thing now does exactly what I want Well, mostly. There's no good source for age ratings, for example

  Call me slow, but I just now got the pun of Okarun's balls in Dandadan being golden balls... 金玉, kintama, is literally golden ball, but also a slang term for testicles I just never questioned that while watching the anime. Came upon kintama in a different context, remembered Dandadan and now it makes sense...
