Thunderstorm in Rothbury. So much cooler today - we’re pleased we headed east. Enjoying the trad music festival 👌🎶

Sneaky Cumbrian weather. The nor’easterly off the Pennines makes you think it’s cooler outside, then you realise your hair is on fire. #weather

Getting sooooooo impatient about the solar panels and battery we’ve ordered. All this wasted sunshine 😭 You have to apply for DNO (Distribution Network Operator) approval in case the existing cabling etc won’t cope with the extra load. We were warned it could take weeks. Also just found out that already having a heat pump can add even more to the delay. Wish we hadn’t dithered but it’s not an easy decision and it’s a big financial commitment 😬 #GreenEnergy

As we welcome the lengthening of the daylight hours, I find myself reflecting upon…. #TinyBalancingSheep #SheepOfMastodon (tall photo)

Er I can be a bit thick but… why is the government making it sound like they are brilliant for coming up with the idea of making plug-in solar panels available in the UK? This is in response specifically to the Iran war and our over dependency on fossil fuels. Other countries are way ahead and seemingly haven’t waited for a crisis to take action. We’d love solar but we’re too old to get our money back (probably). It would have to be mainly for a battery and some independence from the grid.

On a roll with #TinyBalancingSheep @ceadela I didn’t quite get this one right but thought you might let it pass, seeing as it’s a #Herdie and all 🙂 Includes bonus lambs. We have just returned from a couple of days e-biking in lovely Dunnerdale

Just had a Nippon Airlines Boing-777 over going to Tokyo. Looks like it’s having to do a massive detour northwards. Certainly not one of the usuals. Yet another aspect of the US administration’s mission to destroy the planet. There won’t be anything left to go to war for.

@andifluffkitten@mastodonapp.uk Carlisle the same - I think the road layout does lead to traffic from far and wide all converging on the compact central area. Not a great fan of large new roads but it looks like the nearly completed southern link bypass will help with that somewhat. They seem to be planting lots of new hedgerows, though I should think many have been lost. Progress eh 🤷🏻♀️

Felt a little off colour yesterday so postponed my Garmin 10k coaching plan workout. Today they’ve given me a motivational video but I can’t be arsed to watch it 🤣 I will though. Promise 😇 #BigBrotherIsWatching #running

Gosh - a 66yr old Boeing KC-135T Stratotanker sounds impressive. Unfortunately its flight path took it just a little too far south of us for me to look out for it #aircraft #FlighRadar24

@Christownsendoutdoors@mastodon.scot Well, I watch too many crime dramas, but this has the strong smell of collusion in high places 😒

I don’t know if @ceadela@mastodonapp.uk will read this but I do know she has a soft spot for a #Herdie 🙂 We sometimes see young ones overwintered in our local lowland fields, but the older ones are more of a rarity. I’ve also included a couple of posers for the #TinyBalancingSheep theme #SheepOfMastodon #Defaidodon #HerdwickSheep
