Er I can be a bit thick but… why is the government making it sound like they are brilliant for coming up with the idea of making plug-in solar panels available in the UK? This is in response specifically to the Iran war and our over dependency on fossil fuels. Other countries are way ahead and seemingly haven’t waited for a crisis to take action. We’d love solar but we’re too old to get our money back (probably). It would have to be mainly for a battery and some independence from the grid.

    @CloudsGoBy@mindly.social You sure about too old? Current quotes are 7 years and reducing by the day as prices rocket. Friends of mine were 9 years payback three years ago, will now be three more years at today’s prices. Depends how much of your need you can generate, easier for those in south than Cumbria even with latest tech.
