The Alberta separation debacle is supposedly driven by grievances rooted in the idea that Alberta is denied having influence in federal affairs. Meanwhile they make an agreement with the federal government to jam a pipeline through north central BC to Prince Rupert without consulting BC and very much against the wishes of British Columbians.

I find these trains comforting. Frequent trains between Nice and Monaco and pints east and west that stop every ten minutes or so here in Villefranche-sur-mer. It is one of the things about Europe that gives me hope and comfort that I don’t experience in North America.

This is Keystone, a cat which has many humans and homes in Deep Bay on Bowen Island, Canada. Keystone is the most affectionate and chill cat you have ever met. He will climb on you and snuggle you and give a dose of love. He also doesn’t mind dogs at all. #caturday

It’s not that we Canadians think all Americans are bad people or that you all voted for Trump so he’s your fault. It’s that, taken as a whole, your country is no longer a reliable partner in anything and we have to find stable relationships elsewhere. Changing the administration doesn’t change the deeper issues. Not in the short term anyway. The USA just can’t be counted on anymore. It’s disappointing and sad. Doubly so for my friends and colleagues who have to stay there and suffer it.

Bye bye, Joe Toronto Maple Leafs 1 - 3 Ottawa Senators The Leafs&#39; season has been over for a while now and a six game losing streak coming into this game sealed their fate. The season has sputtered to a disappointing end. It seemed to just fall apart from the very beginning with lots of two goal leads surrendered early in the season.
