It’s not that we Canadians think all Americans are bad people or that you all voted for Trump so he’s your fault. It’s that, taken as a whole, your country is no longer a reliable partner in anything and we have to find stable relationships elsewhere. Changing the administration doesn’t change the deeper issues. Not in the short term anyway. The USA just can’t be counted on anymore. It’s disappointing and sad. Doubly so for my friends and colleagues who have to stay there and suffer it.
