The Alberta separation debacle is supposedly driven by grievances rooted in the idea that Alberta is denied having influence in federal affairs. Meanwhile they make an agreement with the federal government to jam a pipeline through north central BC to Prince Rupert without consulting BC and very much against the wishes of British Columbians.

    And the feds talk about suspending parts of the Species at Risk Act to remove the jeopardy test (section 73 (3)(c)) because some animals might just have to go extinct to get a good ROI profile on this play. But do you see BCers contemplating a separation vote? (I’m not talking about the O&G shills who want to be Albertans) No you don’t. Because mature adults know that you work this shit out - with courts if necessary - rather than threatening to do something like “leave Confederation”.
