  Finally read "The Dispossessed" by Ursula K Le Guin. It was interesting & generally pretty good, but I did feel that some of the parts explaining Shevek's theory were hindering the storytelling. Keep in mind the book was written in 1974 I'd still recommend to it, if only for the juxtaposition between the different worlds & worldviews e.g anarchism, communism & capitalism.   Am I the only one having issues with the Aurora #Android app? Updating & installing apps seems broken. I'm using V4.8.3 on LineageOS 22.2 (Android 15) & on Iodé 7.6 (Android 16). The latter returns "Unable to parse TLS packet header" the older Android phone attempts to download & silently fails. It does not matter if I use a Google account or an anonymous account.   Impressed by how well DeltaChat works nowadays! https://delta.chat/en/ I could easily create an account without sharing any details. Connect with a friend's Android based phone & an iPhone. We could videocall & send small apps like a game or a shared list. Apparently I can host my own chat relay & don't need to use someone else's infrastructure, but I haven't tested that yet. Met name in hoe ze haar visie & ideeën wist te koppelen aan concrete acties in de praktijk. Veel sterkte gewenst aan haar naasten met het verlies.   Deze middag weer een klein stapje verder gewerkt aan de Doeidag website op basis van Zola. Is het af? Nee, nog lang niet. Is het bruikbaar? Ja. Na de meivakantie gaan we er verder aan sleutelen. Ben heel blij met de eerste recepten van @elmine en de illustratie van @astridpoot. Fijn ook dat we een Nextcloud hebben om teksten te delen, en een plekje op een server, dankjewel @rolf.   Het is #DoeiDag! Ik had graag de website verder af willen hebben, maar dat is helaas niet gelukt. Het is ook 1e Paasdag, een mooi moment om een eitje te breken voor meer digitale onafhankelijkheid bij het Paasontbijt, de brunch of tijdens het paaseitjes verstoppen.   Thinking about repurposing old phones as servers. Would it be possible to add an extremely low power pcb which switches USB power on/of? So by discharging them regularly the OG phone batteries keep on working safely?   Super interesting & personal presentation at #PROSummit by @Felienne. Her arguments for more feminism in computing are hugely resonant with me. Which some might find weird as I am a man.. Educated as an Interaction Designer, I always felt out of place in "hardcore" programming circles or most IT work places because programming was not my goal. Enough to power an AtTiny85 MCU, or a small clock.   Our rain water tank has a bird's bath underneath the tap because it leaks. This issue has become an important feature. The constant slow dripping of the tap supplies the bird's bath with fresh water. As a result birds, mostly house sparrows, use it as their drinking spot.   I love helping civil/civic organizations move away from #bigtech & deploy alternatives. The urgency is clearer than ever. #DigitalAutonomy has become a mainstream media topic.
