@Strandjunker@mstdn.social rostering is hard. Leaning on people's good will is easy

@Strandjunker@mstdn.social I regularly ask Teams what the biggest time sinks are. The answer is always the same: Salesforce, Confluence, Jira, and so on. When companies buy software to introduce micromanagement because they’ve completely lost track of what their 70+ employees actually do all day, it’s only natural that at least half of them start using ChatGPT or Claude to write code, documentation, and project comments for this kind of SW. People are sick and tired of Bloatware bullshit.

@Strandjunker@mstdn.social I once had a conversation with a boss that went like this: Boss: Why isn't all the work getting done? Me: You've rostered one person to do two jobs. Boss: I don't want your excuses, I want the work done!

@Strandjunker@mstdn.social Maybe it's the lowest-hanging fruit when it comes to shifting responsibility. It's too convenient, and those who should actually be taking responsibility, those who control the leverage, pass it down the chain. Those who have power and are willing to abuse it for their own benefit are usually the most self-serving. At least, that seems to be the rule.

@Strandjunker@mstdn.social Ask the union-busting, NDA-happy shitty dickholes that own Natural Grocers.
