#Ford wanted to charge me $2600 for the little C-Clip that holds the rod in place. ($2600 is the price of a new Turbo, they don't sell the C-Clip separately) Cost me 42 cents and all of 10 minutes to install (and most of that was getting the jack out and putting it away.) #enshitifcation #righttorepair

@spacerog@mastodon.social that constantly reminds me that I should grow my own repair skills. less I know how to fix things.. more it costs me at the end to maintain it. random people and companies suck as skills and products anyway. that's unfortunately for granted these days.

@spacerog@mastodon.social My father fought a similar battle with Sony - he repaired TV's and often encountered a TV that could be repaired for a few cents but that Sony required an expensive replacement module. My father sued on behalf of TV repair people in California (and won.)
