if I had made this for my ex, our relationship probably would have lasted longer not that that would have been a good thing, it was destined to fail for other reasons. but she’d have loved the fuck outta this and it’s way better than the mac & cheese and tendies she made herself

Aside from the lack of veggies, I fail to see the issue here.

First time I ate over at my husband’s, he gave me an entire rib eye and nothing else. This is when I learned about boy dinner.

  • I mean, if it was hand battered and fried and the mac wasn’t kraft but actually put together, then it’s a pretty nice meal. Add some vegetables.

I grew up with parents who loved to cook and grow their own vegetables - I was always cooking with them. When I moved into an engineering dormitory, I was shocked to learn that absolutely no ~20 y/o around me knew how to cook. Seeing a picture of this plate brought me back - everybody made crap like this. Also, once I saw a dude trying to boil a whole cheese (his parents were mega-wealthy, and he had never cooked once in his life).

I don’t get it, most chefs are male.

  • If the cheese and meat is good, then this is a really nice dinner. Add a simple salad to that and its perfect.

I don’t think I’ll ever understand the obsession with macaroni cheese. I’ve never had any that I’d describe as anything higher than tolerable. The only exception to this was a dollop of it, fried, on top of a burger.

Mac & cheese have been ruined for me by that instinct that makes you disgusted by the last thing you ate before getting a stomach bug. Cmon body it’s not a novel type of berry it won’t be poisonous this time

It’s a hot meal, and the mac looks homemade, and not from a box. Girl needs to talk to her boyfriend, and stop bitching on the internet. The conversation should start like this, “Thank you for dinner, I appreciate the effort. Next time you cook, can you make some of these things in the future, they are some of my favorite meals?” My wife works a 7 days on 7 days off hospital shift. On her workdays, I stay up late and have a hot dinner ready for her. After 3 years, I have had 0 complaints. We talk to each other about things we like and our preferences, so I try to cook things I know she will like anyway. I used to make things like felafel from scratch, tons of homemade veggie soups from scratch, like split pea, butternut squash bisque, garden veggie, until I learned she didn’t like those things and just focused my efforts on things she likes. In a healthy relationship, adults talk to each other about their wants and needs, instead of bitching on the internet.

IDK, not saying this isn’t a good meal, but I seems to me this kind of post just implies that most men can’t cook for shit. Most of my male friends are good cook and can make much better meals than that. Guessing it’s an amrrican thing.
