A ton of people, mainly leftist, have an issue where their ideology starts and ends at “AMERICA BAD” I think Hasan is a good example of this as he has defended China and Russia and didn’t stop to think about why. Is Russia good? Is China good? If you do defend them, whatever. But don’t do it without a good grounding as to why. You can never define yourself by only saying what you’re not. You first need to find out what you ARE. Who are you? What do you stand for? What are your grounding, foundational beliefs and values?

lemmy.ml is filled with people who sort the instance by new comments and hit the F5 button nonstop. It’s why there is such quick and violent hate the moment you do not pay attention to where you are in All and make a random, unimportant comment. when I first got on lemmy, I went to .ml since that is where the devs were. I figured that it would be nice to be on the most updated instance. I didn’t know what ML was. I lasted very little time before running away. It’s shocking how insecure and angry people are there.

There are shorter and easier ways to make sure everyone knows that your complete lack of critical thinking skills has led to you outsourcing all thinking to billionaire owned media.
