10 billion percent agree. using docker to maintain all my services is the only way I can selfhost anymore. running things natively just isn’t worth it anymore. I run my own gitlab instance and have repos dedicated to pulling updated images and caching them locally so even if the internet goes down I can still deploy services. what images I don’t trust, I build locally from locally cached os base images. and then there’s all my custom built apps/services.

I wonder how long google would last if everyone in the world would just not be online? turn off your phone. don’t use your PC. what would it take to starve google of the data it’s dependant on? a week? two weeks? a month? how much would it take to irrecoverably damage their business? I wonder how many other businesses would be damaged at the same time?

this is so common it’s disgusting. I’ve had a company charge me $30k for a new roof and refused to come out to fix the leaks and blown off shingles. I had to go out and fix my own damn roof. bunch of fucking thieves. I miss the days where everything wasn’t run like a corporation trying to bleed a stone.

perhaps autistics are more aligned with expressing themselves sexually? personally I find people with autism have far deeper emotional aptitude when expressing themselves to a person or community they trust. I think you’re forgetting about industrial farms (that supply food for the majority of people). they don’t just regrow the plants. they harvest and butcher them to make room for new sprouts. did you ever stop and ask a lettuce if it wanted to be eaten? Lettuce is disgusting, it evolved to be gross. Can’t say that for steak makers.
