Okay, weird debate in my friend group.
Some of my friends think the rise of femboys is due to transphobia and many of them are trans.
I think that it's just more people being more comfortable with who they are and not necessarily all or even most of them being trans.
Settle this.

@Elizafox@social.treehouse.systems it's complicated. we find it hard to assess such things in-the-moment, it's really only years later that we get to see them clearly, by talking to people who were part of the group in question. meanwhile, of course, it's important to take people's identities at face value and respect what they tell us. certainly there have been situations in decades past where proponents of misogyny and hatred attempted to lure gendery people into identities that were framed in objectifying ways
