Why does Fedora need to restart all the time?
I have some system updates this morning, I can see an autocorrect library, a lot of perl stuff and some stuff for libreoffice... it's downloaded them and now wants me to restart my computer.
Why?
When I first started running Mint a few years back, one of the great things was it would apply updates in the background and, generally, only when the kernel was updated did you need to reboot... this feels like a backwards step, especially given Fedora checks for updates every single day. (Yes, I know this can be configured but I'm on a beta, I feel I'm going to need updates.)

@Fishd From what I read out of it, you mean the updates offered to you via GNOME Software or KDE Discover right? Fedora uses a seperate "install mode" (systemd-target) to actually install the updates prior to the login page at reboot, which reminded me of Microsofts way of installing updates and it annoyed me too. - Download the updates - Reboot - Install updates - Reboot You can use your computer again. There is a way to do automatic background downloads (and installs) of updates using dnf-automatic. Works well and I can recommend it. https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/quick-docs/autoupdates/
