Has anyone had to consign parts to a Chinese CM? If so how was the import process? I hear it&#39;s easy to get stuff out of China but much harder to get stuff in

@aleksorsist@mastodon.social I ship stuff to my PCB mfr in Shenzhen every now and then when they can't source something locally. I either order from Mouser with them as the destination or fedex from my office. No big deal, except you pay duties going, and then again coming, and that's on top of if you paid any tariffs to get them in the first place. You do want to make sure you get the paperwork right including a "commercial invoice" - three copies in the shipping pouch on the package. You also have to assign a "harmonized code" to each item, and this is usually listed on the product page.

@aleksorsist@mastodon.social buy your parts in Hong Kong and ship them direct to CM. No point in giving your parts a world tour and collecting tariff points.
