@Drayson@dragonchat.org I personally find it more derogatory than not, but of course it also depends on who's using the term. Dragons have (in Western lore) frequently been portrayed as beasts or monsters that must be slain, either to rescue someone or for someone to prove their valor.

@Drayson@dragonchat.org Really interesting poll in both question and results! Obviously can't see each individual voter's full perspective but I'd imagine a lot comes down to how one would want to be seen and what aesthetics are most resonant. I think "beast" on average would come off more like an insult to me as I see it as reducing me to some wild monster regardless of my capacity for thought or emotion, but I can also see it as a sign of affection from somebody I have a mutual bond with.
