The letters section of the index of this week's print edition of The Eocnomist says "the Victorians, bald men, eggs". That is a #writing #prompt if ever I saw one. #Wordweavers #PennedPossibilities

#ScribesAndMakers 1 May Are you starting any new projects this month? No, but I'm rebooting my number one project, and I intend to finish it this year.

#WordWeavers 1 May: How long have you been working on your WIP? The first scene came into my head eight years ago and I've been working on it, on and off - more off than on - ever since. But I intend to finish it this year.

#WordWeavers May 2: How much longer do you think it’ll take you to finish your WIP? I aim to finish it this year. I am famously bad at achieving my aims, but I intend this one to be different.

Incoming: author's dad joke. I'm considering writing a thriller about sausages. It's a real sizzler. No words were harmed in the making of this hand crafted #DadJoke #writing

#WordWeavers 7 May: Does your antagonist have any redeeming qualities? At the moment the answer is no, but whenever a question like this comes up, I realise that my antagonist is not yet well enough written. He needs more attention.

#ScribesAndMakers 7 May: When did you think of the idea for your current project? Do you remember how it came about? Seven or eight years ago (but I am determined it's going to be finished this year). As for how, basically the same way all my projects come to me. A scene appears in my mind. Everything else grows from there. AND I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL OVER IT!!!! IT'S INFURIATING!!!

“He asked his mum once if they could have a cat. “One pet animal is enough, dear”, she said, looking at him meaningfully.” My WIP is now a work. Nanotales, a book of 26 short stories by Rob Parsons – that’s me - is on sale at https://ko-fi.com/s/19f8a3feeb Proceeds to St Peter and St James hospice. “variety of theme and gently humorous style” says a reader.
