Ego
I've played twice with sketchy rules explanations, so it all clicked into place for me too late. A player aid with final scoring would help a lot.
It's a great game though. Original, fast and punchy. Classic Knizia. I am intrigued to play Beowulf again.

Not sure a player aid is necessary when all the final scoring is on the final board. I enjoyed playing but, for me, Beowolf is a better game. The story is actually more coherent (unusual for Knizia) and the rewards are less random (you know what special cards you are fighting for) I think one thing Ego does have over Beowulf is the modular board, which does change the set up each game (but that's why you lose the narrative which appears in the orginal)
