It&#39;s interesting how alternatives to the classic corporate #Android keep coming up 1. Android-based but modified &amp; &#39;de-Googled&#39;, like I think #LineageOS, #CalyxOS, #GrapheneOS, #ShiftOS 2. &#39;Classic&#39; #Linux, like #SailfishOS, #UbuntuTouch, #PostmarketOS (https://postmarketos.org) 3. Linux as an Android app. Like #NOMoneDesktop (https://desktop.nomone.com; video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqFpzI-FsU0) Hopefully the #JollaPhone with https://sailfishos.org will have thrived by the time I have to replace my phone

@vform@openbiblio.social I wouldnt count SailfishOS as Linux, but still love that there is progress and work being done. Especially Mobian and PostmarketOS look strong.

@vform@openbiblio.social 2) should prob be split into 2 camps: downstream and upstream downstream: ubuntu touch, sailfishos, and jolla (close-to) upstream: postmarketos and mobian (and i think pocketblue?) difference in downstream and upstream for the user will be updates. downstream devices will eventually stop getting updates whereas upstream will theoretically get unlimited updates
