One of the great things about being back on my bike is I can go foraging.
I knew of a fig tree hanging over the back fence of a factory but it was too far away to walk and awkward to drive.
Most of the figs aren't fully ripe so I put olive oil over the fruit end. Any other tips for ripening/softening figs?

@siftinsand I think that figs ripen more in the presence of ethylene, so sealing the less-ripe ones in a plastic bag (and putting the more-ripe ones in the fridge) might level the playing field.
