people are asking if I know what actually happened, what kind of attack it was and such. I didn’t see a lot of confirmed info about it (and didn’t really look too hard either), but judging by what I’ve read so far, I’m assuming a combination of doxxing, pestering the hosting and threatening legal harassment. supposedly the person who hosted it took it down themselves to get the heat off of them - and I can’t blame them, that’s reasonable, no one doing this should ever feel expected to stand up to being personally targeted. that’s what we have a community for. they can back off to ensure their own safety, while we deploy a hundred more mirrors. (posting this as a separate reply in case edits don’t fully federate.) /erin

@erin@fedi.quiescent.nexus i'd mirror soapingtime's diyhrt repo but it doesn't seem to be maintained, only supported by github actions, it has two year old unanswered issues on it

@erin@fedi.quiescent.nexus that person had to take down the amazing source because queer community failed them. it is not just about transphobes.

@erin@fedi.quiescent.nexus I run my own home server and use a Japanese TLD from a European registrar. Which of the sites do you think is most impawtant to mirror?

@erin@fedi.quiescent.nexus Imma repost this despite the fact that I'm lucky enough to have presecriptions and endocrinologist helping me, unfortunately many people cannot access it and it's really sad to see people who just wants to make it as difficult as possible to let people get the care that they need

@erin@fedi.quiescent.nexus Terfs often say they're fighting to free us to be ourselves(particularly sex matters types) yet their main project is to bully us into conformity and shut down anything that helps us. They're opperssors not the liberators they fancy themselves as

@erin@fedi.quiescent.nexus Set up a TOR hidden service. Not necessarily as the primary point of access for most end users, but as a reliable and nearly unterfable point of access to people who would mirror it. And beware that once the domains are offline, terves will eventually attempt to do "crisis transancy centers" that will mimic good sources but contain lies. So, do what Anna's Archive has been doing, and grab a large number of domains. They don't all have to go live at once; it's good to keep a reserve for the next attack.
