I have a complicated relationship with my enjoyment of Firefly. I have loved/continue to love the show, but I can also see that it has some elements that accepted uncritically and explored as little as they were in the show feel like problematic seeds - the pitch of "confederate solider who doesn't believe he lost the war leads a band of social outcasts under the radar of the status quo until it's time for them to step up and change the world" lands a little differently today than 24 years ago.

I hope that whatever comes next continues to develop the characters we love, and address difficult questions about the 'verse and their role in it (as I want to believe the original show would have, given more time)

@Cheeseness idk. if fiction changed anything we'd be in a very different place r/n. but it's a projective oracle. you find in it whatever you're looking for.
