Main driver for this is an easy export of my RYOT data as S3 is the only type supported (barring full database export)

@underwood@fosstodon.org @homelab@fedigroups.social I've seen people comment positively about Garage. Also if you're into kubernetes or any of its flavours, I think there's Rook for it.

@underwood@fosstodon.org @homelab@fedigroups.social I've been running Garage. Love it, especially paired with OpenTofu & https://search.opentofu.org/provider/schwitzd/garage/latest

@underwood@fosstodon.org I am looking at https://github.com/versity/versitygw as a minio replacement. But I haven't started the migration/testing yet. Otherwise, as many people already mentioned, garage :)

@underwood@fosstodon.org MinIO is the obvious choice but if you want something lighter, check out Garage (https://garagehq.deuxfleurs.fr/) — it's built for distributed setups across multiple nodes, and SeaweedFS if you need a full object store + file system. For most homelab S3 needs though, MinIO with a single node just works. #selfhosted #homelab #s3

@underwood@fosstodon.org @homelab@fedigroups.social You can find a lot of suggestions on this thread where I asked about S3. Intended up setting with Garage. https://hachyderm.io/@badnetmask/115867514961600879
