How do N95 masks catch particles that are smaller than the holes? 1. Particles are sticky because of static forces 2. Large particles go straight until they hit a mask layer Tiny particles get knocked around by molecules until they hit a fibre 3.     @dan613 so that means N95 masks are charged up capacitors? How long before all that charge leaks away? Can they be recharged by end users? Does getting them wet short them out and dissipate the charge?

  • @dan613 Fart molecules are measured in Daltons and are not carried by the significantly larger water droplets. That is how you respond to people who say that N95s don't work cuz they can smell their own farts.
