My Best Christmas Moment was tonight; I got my wife an acoustic guitar because she&#39;s been wanting to learn to play and she spent at least an hour and a half practicing Ring of Fire this evening. It makes me so happy to see her happy ❤️

We moved this year (twice, in fact) and have both been working our butts off trying to keep our heads above water. Seeing her do something creatively fulfilling just because it was what she wanted to spend her evening doing was awesome and a pretty rare thing in 2022 for both of us.

@AbandonedAmerica@mastodon.social How wonderful! I took up guitar about a year and a half ago, and I really recommend Justin Guitar. His stuff is free (pay what you can) and structured. I was playing several songs within a few days.

@AbandonedAmerica@mastodon.social Saw your post from someone boosting it. What a feel-good story. Glad to hear she's liking it. If I could offer an unsolicited tip that helped me exponentially when I first started trying to learn... Spend a little money on getting it set up. It might be about 40 to 50 dollars to get a guitar tech to adjust the neck and lower the strings. It helps tremendously!
