1/ I&#39;m seeing a lot of talk (still!) of defederating mastodon.social over the recent spam attacks. I have a feeling I&#39;m going to regret this, but as someone on that instance with no current plans to move, I feel like there are some things those who are considering it may not be taking into account. The older I get, the more aware I am that being critical rather than enjoying things is not a sign of intelligence or wisdom. Not loving things - movies, art, music, people, situations - because of their weaknesses doesn&#39;t make you better than them, it means you&#39;re unable to see past imperfections. Sure, some things absolutely are bad &amp; should be left behind - but being hypercritical denies you joy. I need reminded of this every day. Too many things are legit bad to throw...

My Best Christmas Moment was tonight; I got my wife an acoustic guitar because she&#39;s been wanting to learn to play and she spent at least an hour and a half practicing Ring of Fire this evening. It makes me so happy to see her happy ❤️
