@Katika@chaos.social has he not heard of the concept of headphones if he wants to listen to music. There's a range of styles and use cases none of which record video of other people without their consent or knowledge. I've got bone conducting headphones, in ear headphones, over ear headphones, noise cancelling headphones...

@Katika@chaos.social easy. take out a camera and start recording him. then publish it. he's argued that he has the right to publish recordings of you to a 3rd party

@Katika@chaos.social The first time this tech appeared everyone mocked them and called them “glassholes”. The social pressure seemed to work as they disappeared faster than they arrived. I’m sure doing the same will still work. Public shaming is powerful. Saying very loudly, “Hey everyone, there’s a glasshole over here recording everything you say or do and sharing it with our AI overlords!” I think most non-sadists would just take them off.

@Katika@chaos.social "his choice" is just like all sorts of things. religion. politics. smoking. he gets his choice until it forces his choice to over-ride the choices of those around him. i'm perfectly comfortable telling someone wearing perv glasses to take them off while they're around me, just like i'd ask someone smoking near me to stop.

@Katika@chaos.social I'd probably not even notice because that's just me but if people believe it's their right to use surveillance tech in public, I also believe it's other people's right to use things that destroy this surveillance tech, like, idk, viruses or fists

@Katika@chaos.social Those must be banned in public because they destroy other people's human rights. I had my first contact last week: https://social.tchncs.de/@a32/116782647085944379
