Atlee and his government rebuilt the UK after the social destruction wrought by not one but two world wars. Atlee and members of his government were also instrumental in the domestic policies that kept the UK running during the blitz.
But Churchill gets all the praise, and Thatcher, who began dismantling Atlee's work, is more revered.
Does that not tell you who owns our politics?

@Alternatecelt@mastodon.scot I’m assuming you are referring to English politics perhaps? Thatcher is certainly not revered in Scotland, I imagine the other home nations may also have a similar perspective. Wasn’t the “reverence” of Thatcher not just a bunch of Tories trying to cash in?
