Yeah the system makes no sense. I got dinged -12 points this week for some reason, apparently for continuing to pay my student loans on time and using my one credit card for the exact same purchases I always do, which I likewise always pay off each month automatically.

Shit, I’ve had a credit score of 750 or more for years, and yet I can never get approved for any loans other than small, short-term ones like from a cash checking service to get an advance on a paycheck.

When you realise that the credit score you see is there to encourage you to use more credit, and is not necessarily related to what banks do, you'll stop caring.
