Actually London was much more foggy in 1850, from what I've read, because "fog" was a euphemism for coal smoke. But I could be off-base.

@taoish@mastodonapp.uk @joyce@hcommons.social Quite possibly you're right. I am perhaps confusing Fog and Smog - although they are effectively the same thing.
