@_gigabyte_@tsundere.love @FaggotTourney@tsundere.love @Wiz@tsundere.love We considered setting up an MRF so that you could use the built-in poll feature for this, and have the votes be transparent in that way. I think @p@fsebugoutzone.org brought this up, and we were interested. The problem with this is that the built-in poll feature works badly enough that a lot of votes simply aren't counted, at all. We've seen more than a few cases of that around here, and the idea was scrapped because we didn't want to accidentally create a black hole where you don't know whether or not your vote is going to count. It's not a bad idea, it's just one that doesn't work. It could probably be made to work, but it just doesn't. cc @Twig@clew.lol

@ceo_of_monoeye_dating@tsundere.love @p@fsebugoutzone.org @FaggotTourney@tsundere.love @Wiz@tsundere.love @_gigabyte_@tsundere.love Using poll threads isn’t a different system, it’s a hybrid that reinforces what you’re already doing with reply-based voting. It just adds a secondary layer of confirmation, not a competing mechanism. If the built-in poll feature is unreliable and can silently drop votes, then the “I vote for X” replies on the poll thread correct the system’s failure by providing a verifiable manual record of each vote.

@ceo_of_monoeye_dating@tsundere.love @_gigabyte_@tsundere.love @FaggotTourney@tsundere.love @Twig@clew.lol @p@fsebugoutzone.org You have two options for contests: 1. use a poll, don't know if the votes made it and who cast them. 2. Make people comment. Much easier to see and validate reports of votes not counting. The former is stupid easy, but stupid. The latter is more work, arguably still stupid, but has receipts. For this tourney we need receipts
