I will make a comparison. Editor like Atom, VSCode and Zed are a Toyota. Very nice car indeed.
But Emacs is a battle tank or Apache helicopter or even an alien mother ship.
People will find it much easier to drive a Toyota. But people need lot of practice to drive a battle tank.

Emacs has a lot of power to it — and discovering and effectively using that power will take time and experience. That much is true. But I don’t really think the initial learning curve is very steep. I suspect someone could figure out the basics quite quickly.
