I think retro computing can be a somewhat cheap hobby if you're smart about it
hunt for deals, know your way around sorting out things like storage and bootable media on old computers, aim for old laptops, even beat up ones…

@tofu@is-a.cat use emulators instead of the real thing (and then buy the real thing once you're sure you like the system)
