@Tutanota@mastodon.social The counter point is that the Linux kernel, particularly on out if update devices but even on quarterly patching, gets a kernel exploit per month at the moment. It is swiss cheese. Users will press anything, without fear nor understanding.

  • @abartlet@mastodon.nzoss.nz @Tutanota@mastodon.social There are few issues with this response I must point out. 1. Android is a Linux distribution that is officially "open-source". 2. While Linux has so many CVEs which discover rate was accelerate by AI, closed-source systems aren't except to CVEs. You just don't see it and they won't tell you, which I would argue is worse. (They mostly do not even bother fixing those as they'd need to pay those fixing it, with open-source, there're people & companies fixing those) (1/2)
