So I dunno, maybe we need to do one simpler.
The only thing I really want from Google these days (and sadly, doubt I’ll even receive) is the opportunity for passerby to choose to visit me. You can’t choose an option you don’t know exists.
The amount of information that I need to serve a corporation to make that option available seems like it’d be a hell of a lot smaller than “everything I have, for free”; especially if they can’t be honored not to fuck me with it.

While I have you, here’s another hypothesis. I think such an arrangement might make it easier on us when, in the future, the law (hopefully) catches up to the technology. If I say you can have A, but your program takes A+B from the same website, that looks indistinguishable from you making a mistake of scope or permission. Oopsie, you say, that wasn’t malice, that was a bug. If the goods are quarantined on an entirely new server, on an explicitly de indexed site? You sought that out.
