@felis_catus_domesticus@toot.community Thanks for the tip. Hmm… sort of like Allen screws, but square! I’ll keep my eye out for them. I did find on my previous DIY projects that unless I put a good amount of downward pressure on the drill driver, the drill bit _would_ disengage from the screw heads!

@ChaplinTokyo@social.vivaldi.net Allen screws have trouble with high torques that you encounter in wood porjects too. Allen is a better fastener for precision machines than it is for wood.If you are going to a co-op that has electric drills for driving screws, these are nice too. Making a pilot hole for the screw will prevent the wood from splitting when the screw is driven in. More important with hard woods than with pine, but it will make the project look cleaner and more professional no matter the wood type.
