So...if his isn't the door to a murder-basement, I don't know what is. The best part? We were all speculating about where it went last night. At about 5AM a light came on under the door. This morning there's a cardboard box pushed up against the inside of the door, so we can't see if the light is on anymore. I am absolutely *dying* to open¹ it, but I fear there's a person in there watching us through what I can only assume are hidden cameras². ¹ note: the top and bottom deadbolts are already unlocked, and the strikeplate is improperly installed, so the deadlatch doesn't actually work. That leaves *one* deadbolt...which is *basically* already open, right? 🤷🏼‍♀️ ² thankfully, tens of thousands of strangers on the internet have already seen me naked, so it's not like one more makes much of a difference. #AirBnBHorrorStories #TheyreInTheWalls

@alice@lgbtqia.space Do you have any equipment with you perhaps? (justification) For all you know, somebody has had an accident on the other side of the door, and you need to make sure that they're okay. We know that legality varies a lot based on where you are in the world, but if you check it out first, you can probably justify any actions to protect yourself/ves.

My girlfriend is saying that if there's someone else in the house, and we weren't pre-warned about it, then that's reason enough to open it and check. I kinda agree. That's hella sus.
