Obviously, refitting a ship could not be done on the fly, outside of port. But resupply of food, toiletries, many essential parts, and crew exchanges could be.

@huntingdon@mstdn.social @ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org and you're really not thinking of the logistics of that big a ship. there's a reason the navy doesn't do that regularly. you'd essentially need a full carrier group to resupply and recrew a carrier group. we don't have that many of them.
