The logic is *supposed* to be that your stockpile is there to be a deterrent, *and* to provide you with time to ramp up domestic production to the scale so that you will be able to continue the fight unimpeded as a war continues.
It seems like today’s ‘generals’ are so enamoured of the idea that they can shock and awe any enemy into submission in weeks or months that they have forgotten to do the second part?

@DavidM_yeg@beige.party just like the French and their Maginot Line, the US generals and strategists currently in charge are so wedded to the idea of their superiority that they will not think outside of their narrow box. Just as the French did with DeGaulle, Trump, Hegseth & Co have done to any officer who has dared to question them.
