“the US has not really won a war since 1945” … a distressing number of Americans don’t quite literally don’t know that. Even more think that somehow the US defeated the Soviet Union, when instead they only sort held the line for 45 years and let the Soviet system crumble on its own.

@DavidM_yeg@beige.party I also think it's pretty rich to think "the Americans won WWII".
