@evdelen@mstdn.ca One of the reason I like when new condos have to keep the historic facades. The building feels like it still is human scale.
Also livability is sacrificed for poorly designed automation of large service trucks. In an ideal world large condos would have small composter plants.

@arthurgron@mstdn.ca In a more realistic world we could install district wide automated vacuum collection systems with centralized pickup points. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automated_vacuum_collection A municipally owned utility that already does district heating and cooling in Toronto would be perfect for that! Oops, under Rob and Doug Ford Toronto sold off its stake in Enwave, the municipal district heating and cooling utility. Womp womp... Conservative short-term thinking strikes again!
