I don't think you're proposing human extinction. but there is nothing going on now which has not happened in every human society in all of history. the only problem is that the United States built a successful system that has let power grow and accrue without failing for way too long.
build systems that fail well.

Capitalism is designed to maintain its control by seperating people from their needs. People did not engage in global imperialism, vast ecploitation, genocide and enslavement for all of human history otherwise we would be extinct, the direction we are now heading.
