If you are running for a local office money is important, but do you know what matters more?
A good volunteer. A retired person, or a teacher with summer time, a student or the head of the local church choir. Get these people with sharp minds, boundless enthusiasm, deep community times and a modest amount of free time on your side and VOTES will come with them.
Spend your meager funds on a pizza to keep them going, or a car to pick them all up if it rains when they are out.
That is the way.

Dollar bills are very nice, but most people toss the glossy fliers in the trash, they sneer at well produced commercials. But if Darlene who knows EVERYONE is so excited about you running and tells everyone they will vote for you just to avoid seeing Darlene sad on the day after the election. The problem some democrats have is they just aren't the kind of candidates that make people excited like that. We can think of some of the reasons why can't we? But it can change.

@futurebird@sauropods.win Danielle is currently using my home office to phonebank for two hours on behalf of the Florida Democratic party. The modern tools allow her to do it entirely from home. It’s dead easy.
